Founded in 1993, Global Service Corps (GSC) is a non-profit leader in service learning and overseas volunteer programs and international internships in Thailand and Tanzania. GSC is built on the participation of its volunteer participants, staff, and advisors both in the developed and developing nations of the world. GSC’s programs are grounded in a philosophy that the personal lives and activities of people around the world are increasingly intertwined. It is important that we understand the inter-relatedness of our actions and the effect they have on individual health, social well-being and environmental stability worldwide.

GSC offers volunteer programs for participants from developed countries to work together with citizens of developing countries on urban and rural-based, sustainable community service projects. The volunteer programs of GSC provide a means for volunteers and in-country program staff to gain an understanding of each others cultures while at the same time actively addressing, at a community level, some of our pressing global issues.

In Thailand, you can choose from a number of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can utilize their skills and abilities to teach HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention in secondary schools or Teach English to young Thai children and novice monks while being immersed in the rich and vibrant Buddhist culture. Volunteer participants in the Orphanage Program give underprivileged Thai children the attention and support they so desperately need. Students studying pre-med or medicine and health care professionals can participate in the International Health Program This program allows volunteer participants the unique opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations of a Thai hospital as they shadow doctors and nurses on their rounds.  Volunteer Vacations are also offered in Thailand and are a great affordable alternative to GSC’s Service-Learning Programs that provide more in-depth volunteer training and individual supervision and coaching.  The Volunteer Vacations allow participants to combine a traditional vacation with an international volunteer experience.
